Yes, dogs can have sleep apnea. It's a condition where a dog's breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep, potentially leading to health issues. Iida Niinikoski, a researcher at the University of Helsinki, and her team have studied sleep-disordered breathing in dogs, including the role of brachycephaly (short-nosed breeds) in predisposing dogs to sleep apnea.
